Just thought I'd throw this on here in case anyone else is looking at the Bakflip CS package.

It was really hard to get our hands on this:

On my Backflip, the flat black metal pieces at the front rusted out in a matter of weeks. Backflip was good about sending me replacements, but I decided to sand, prime with heavy galvanizing paint, then plastidip the pieces and they haven't rusted since. Also, the little plastic cable guides that hold the struts are much sturdier than the plastic cable guides you buy at Home Depot or elsewhere. When one of mine broke, I ended up replacing it with a stainless plastic cable guide and that works better than anything else

Thanks so much for the handy info!
This for sure wasn’t my 1st choice but we really needed the high bed rack that worked with a tonneau. There weren’t many clear/available solutions we could get that would work on the 2011.

So any advice to keep it working is super appreciated!

Most of the Backflip components can rust, so anything to prevent that is probably a good idea. I replaced all the fasteners that came with it with same size stainless ones. After almost 6 years, there's a bit of rust in the side latching mechanisms, but I haven't figured out what to do about that. If nothing else, I'll probably squirt a bit of silicone spray in there to help keep it lubricated and provide some isolation from the elements

Well in Miami the moisture and rain is a real rust accelerator so I’ll keep you posted on how long it takes for ours to start rusting.
We were actually told that Bakflip has been sold to another company so I’m wondering if they’ll even contribute to exist as they did.

Very helpful video @NomadEffect and information @geoff w . I have been looking for a hard tonneau to protect a tool box, and also have been looking at the CS series for the flexibility of having the rack. I am hopefully purchasing a used one soon. Unfortunately it is off a different model and will likely require some customization to get it to work! :fingerscrossed: I called BAKFlip and they were nice, but not super knowledgeable IMO. Now they seem to make relocation brackets for the track system (for 3rd gens anways), but they quoted me about $400 for the kit... way out of my budget. Anyways, the last person I spoke with there said they no longer manufacture the CS line, or any replacement models.

Anyway, I really appreciate you taking the time to make the video, because I have always been a visual learner!
