I know it's wrong. It's just a thought that brightens my day... I imagine reaching in someone's window, and grabbing the turn signal stalk and breaking it off. Then smiling at them and saying "there, there... you don't need that" after they demonstrate non-use of the turn signal.

I'm seeing a lot of people making right turns not using their turn signals now. So considerate.

Of all the places I've driven for any extended period of time (a week or more) I'd say I've found myself least angry at Colorado drivers

Road rage isn't worth it nowadays given the amount of idiots/cowards with guns and no sense. Learning to just shrug it off, move on, and live my life is less stressful I find.

It's a dangerous world out there and many people are driving around pretty stressed these days. I am not excusing piss-poor driving habits but confronting someone on the road for not signaling or not letting you merge into traffic is risky behavior. Learn to let little shit like this go; it's just not worth it.

PS: saw a story here in Atlanta where someone is dead because they confronted someone leaning up against their car in a night club parking lot. Think about that; someone is dead for leaning up against a car! I would not like to find someone leaning up against my fancy car, but I would not kill them over it!

I use a motorcycle as my primary means of travel. Might as well just buy a jacket with a target printed right on it.

You should try driving here in Pennsylvania home of the LAPD. Lousy assed PA driver.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
The 3-4 second late red light runners (w/Gangster lean) are the most dangerous from what I’ve experienced. When my light turns green, I wait 2 (now 3 or 4) seconds and then watch out!

You live in the Eastside, the land of BMWs, Karens, and Seattle commuters. It's better where I grew up (Olympia), though not by much. My favorite is going over to Eastern Washington. They know how to freaking drive. Coming back home and crossing the pass is like someone flipped a light switch. Oh look, a Prius going 55 in the left lane. We're close...

“Cops never do anything about it.” I’m not sure I’d want to spend 15 minutes citing someone for a moving violation when the “justice system” will just give them a pass. Just look at our politicians and uninformed voters these days. They’re giving criminals a pass on far worse activity.

Oh man, not the ZIPPER merge...

Folks do this wrong ALL THE TIME.

Here is the thing, what make the traffic flow faster is the ZIPPER action, not WHERE it happens, this is why it is called the zipper merge, not the late merge. The only thing that speeds up the flow is traffic is cars taking turns, one by one. The reason it is recommended to do so at the merge point is not because doing it at the merge point makes a difference in delay, it is so that there is no room for folks to drive past and merge in, which is the opposite of the ZIPPER.

Here is the deal, as traffic backs up cars can start merging right at the merge point, but as time goes on that naturally works its way backwards from the merge point simply due to the nature of the cars coming together. They are back from the pinch point because they were doing the right thing.

So if folks run past the cars that have already zipper merged, and done so back from the merge point, understand that what you are doing is the OPPOSITE of a ZIPPER. and they didn't merge together back there because they are chumps, they did so because a proper ZIPPER merge naturally works away from the pinch point over time. Running to the front and merging causes the slinky effect to the other cars and it IS what slows traffic more.

Don't believe me? Ask yourself this, are you going to get through the pinch point faster if you are 10 cars back in three lanes, or 15 cars back in two lanes? You only save time now because the lane is empty, if it was full there would be the same number of cars in front of you if all lanes were full or if one lane is empty. The length of the cars coming together has nothing to do with the delay, if it did a 5 mile long construction zone would have a 1000x longer delay then a 100' construction zone. The only thing that reduces the delay is how fast the cars go through the narrowest point and that is where the ZIPPER keeps speeds up, this is also where running the line past where cars have already merged slows the whole thing down by creating the slinky.

45mph posted would be the maximum safe speed in good weather. I try to think maybe the little old lady in front of you just lost her beloved husband of 50 years...

I got a warning for not signaling a lane change. Thing was a landscape trailer swerved into my lane causing me to make an emergency maneuver. The Trooper saw it and pulled ME over and gave me a warning. The landscape truck went on their merry swerving way.
