    I have an '08 Tacoma with 154K miles, well-weathered appearance, bone stock, no rust, no complaints. Thinking of gradually building an overland setup as opportunity allows.

    Previously owned a '97 ext cab 5 spd, it left the stable at ~250K miles and continued running past 370K before the exhaust header cracked.

    Previous IHC Scout II owner: '77, '80. It was true love, but all good things come to an end.

    AMSOIL user/believer since 1979.

    I would take a different path to camping.....sorry overlanding....

    My build would consist of finding a folding (pop-up) camper with a 10' box and a dry weight below 3000 lb.

    Solves a bunch of problems and you can still use the truck like a truck.
