I've spent a lot of time at Westport, but not any time in Ocean Shores. The ocean water cleanliness is inconsistent in this region. I've had days surfing in this area with great water quality and other days where you're pretty much swimming in sewage. Super gross. It should have been listed as a red tide but there isn't accurate reporting. Westport is small and the "locals" can be really unfriendly. It's definitely not the most beautiful of beaches in this area...and the coastline is a long stretch of beach break making currents and rips pretty strong. Waves get really big here in winter.
