Help me quit brothers, solid glass or sliding rear window? They're getting ready to do the install and I asked if it was an option. And I think it is. I never open the slider so help me understand why I would take one over the other.

For what it's worth, I love the sliding window on my '21. Use it all the time. I like hearing the outside and exhaust without getting hot or cold. Also, when I do want to roll down my windows, there is no pressure reverberation with the slider open. Don't see a reason to not get it as long as $ is no issue.

Rear slider is great! I had a solid window on my last truck (and the rear windows didn't vent or roll down) and airflow was horrible.

If you're doing it in the bed it's much easier to change the radio station.

LOL, decision made unanimously, SLIDER it is!!!

I actually needed that laugh, "Doing it in the bed" I spit my coke out! LOL

Interesting update though, hats off to the anti-aftermarket glass TW brothers & sisters.

The OEM rear gray smoked privacy slider is on backorder. So I had to go with the aftermarket. All was well until the installer was finished up and I noticed a 3/16" gap down the passenger side of the sealing grommet. Heres yet another reason I like and respect Safelite, I pointed it out to the tech, and without hesitation, he said, " it is a bad bend".

    Bad bend I asked?

Well, come to find out that it is fairly normal to run into this sort of defect especially with AM glass. (ENJOY YOU ANTIS!!! this is where the glass bend is not made to lay properly with the contour of the truck, thus leaving a gap in the seal.

So within 30 sec. the mgr was there and said. As you know the OEM glass is on backorder. I have already ordered you one and will replace this one with it as soon as it arrives.

Here I found no one trying to make excuses, no trying to hide the defect, just honest hard-working people going out of their way to deliver a good service.

I know that many here express grief with them. BUT IM HERE TO SAY THAT SAFELITE is alright with me.
