    Hello
I have read all (I think) of the previous threads re: icon stage 2 vs bilstein 6112/5160 and just want to confirm my knowledge.

I have a 2020 dclb TRD Sport w Firestone airbags w cradles. I am looking for a 2” lift, no higher to avoid needing UCAs and needle bearings. My lift needs are that my rtt stays on the truck 9 months a year for quick camping trips , and on those trips I carry up to 300 # of gear. My current setup is either too easy to bottom or the airbags are set so high that the ride is harsh. I figure more travel means I can drop the airbag psi and not bottom as easily.

My truck is 90% road, 10% off-road in the Southeast. My trails are dirt roads in various stages of disrepair- no rock crawling planned. My local shop is pushing the Icon stage 2 mainly bc they cannot get the Bilsteins, but I see Bilsteins are starting to pop up . To my reading , Icon has some real fans due to adjustability, overall performance, and upgradability but several people hate their service and reliability . Bilsteins 6112/5160 are not as adjustable, but may be more active at lower speed, cheaper and from my reading more fire and forget.

I’ve been told by my shop I don’t need a AAL bc my airbags will work. I am unsure how I will be lifting the rear however( I thought the rear shocks need a AAL or full pack for lift) .

    Is that summary about right?
