Wheel/Tire combo for towing

Any thoughts on what would be a better Tow vehicle?
The SR5 with 16 wheels, or the TRD with 17" wheels and the Sport Tuned Suspension.

I currently tow with a 2014 Sienna, and it handles pretty good.

It won’t make any difference what size wheel/tire on the truck from the factory. The trucks are geared to match the tire/wheel. Note also the max tow capacity on them isn’t different (it may vary by a couple hundred pounds due to various factors. Get which ever truck you like the best.

 

There's no benefit one way or the other. SR5 tires are cheaper to replace as one pro.

You may prefer the slightly stiffer shocks on the sport.

If you were using a sienna I imagine it was around 3000lbs and the tacoma will kick ass at that weight compared to a sienna.

 

I was thinking more along the lines of handling. More tire vs more wheel.
Taller sidewall on the 16” might not handle as well as the 17”

There will be no noticeable difference between 16” and 17”.
