Just to the plate and tacked to the X brace. Might scrap it and do square tube since I don’t have a notcher and it’ll be easier to triangulate off of. I’m going to ride around and see if there is any difference before spending too much time on it. Might be best to wait for a canned solution from Harry. I’m not that smart or capable. Just dumb enough to try stuff.

The problem is forward of that tube all the way to the front of the frame under the door

Timely discussion as I bent hell out of my first gen frame wheeling and it bounces under hard braking with my rear discs. Looking at ways to brace it until I can get a new frame built for it.

We bent it back by chaining it down to a trailer and jacking the corner up with a hi lift.

No doubt. I wish there was room to triangulate right there where the gas tank and exhaust are. Would stepping up to 3/16” for boxing that section help any?

No, the frame is .090 and .125 so anything thicker is pointless

100% agree! Mine is 1/4" because that's all the steel place had at the time. Wish they had 1/8th

I don't know all of the specifics but I know it's also down through his bed and tied into the frame there.

I don’t understand the point to that, it’s not like the tubes are gonna save the body panels and if anything the body panels will crumple in leaving the tubing exposed to snag on rocks etc

The doors are exposed but being able to push the fender into a rock if needed would be nice.

Or even the tube up above the doors. I was wedged up against a tree this weekend and that tube would’ve kept me off of it to some degree.

When I smashed my cab and door before the cage, the top of the cab almost wasn't able to seal with the door, so the cage was done to help protect that area. Exo cages aren't new and of course you can scrutinize all of them.

I am not against exo cages but why not just do away with the front fenders and bed and use the tubing with panels to create the fenders and bed.

Because it works as it is. The panels are fairly nice. And this is just how I wanted it.

Anyone have any tips or things not to forget removing the bed? So far I have taillights, my ghetto wiring jobs, shock towers, power inverter harness, gas neck (not sure on that one) anything I’m missing?

I’m going to use the tractor to lift it off so any bolt left behind won’t be there for reassembly

Its very easy, you got everything I can think of. The rear harness has to be detached from the metal rear section on the bottom of the bed, as it is clipped in up there. Otherwise, just 6 bolts and lift it off. The filler neck just sits there, it's not actually attached.
