Well , I was able to get a late optometrists appointment after being late earlier.

In the mean time I’m watching Fox News on oil and cargo woes. I’ll stop there with respect for our COC . ​

I already took it apart and put it back. The auger was a little wobbly without it because the spacer has a piece that also centers it and holds it in place. It's stupid but I did it. Ima go home

The fields were still muddy from all the rain.
My boots and trouser legs got wet AF.

I figured they'd restock today (with the weekend coming up).
Nope...and they hadn't stocked earlier in the week either.
Didn't hear a peep all morning.
Those roosters can't help themselves, if there'd been any there, I woulda heard something.

BTW, I've been hunting in years past when the stocking truck comes.
They have a loudspeaker blaring :
"DO NOT DISCHARGE FIREARMS UNTIL TRUCK HAS LEFT THE AREA".

Yeah right...like anybody pays any mind to that.

So I'm sitting in my truck having lunch when I see a pheasant Hen fly across the field in front of me.
I'd been debating whether to call it a day or wait to see if the stocking truck would come.

Oh all right. Hens are legal too.
So I chase that Hen hither and yon across several fields.
Caught glimpses several times, but never within range.

That's why they call it hunting, son.







Here's something odd.
Lightning bugs huddled together on a milkweed pod not long after sunup.
If they aren't lightning bugs, they gotta be closely related.



Eastern Junipers heavy with berries.
Many people around here call them cedars.



We haven't had a frost yet, but the leaves are turning now.
