Modify Truxedo tonneau to fit w/Thule TracRac?

My Tacoma came with a soft Truxedo tonneau cover and I do like it. I just found a Thule TracRac on FB marketplace so I can transport 16' sea kayaks without a trailer.

Has anyone modified (cut) the rails of the Truxedo to fit around the lip of the foot of the Thule rack? It looks like a small but long trim would let the combination work together. I'd really like to keep the cover on while I use the rack system. I can't be the only one...

 

Nobody, huh? Well damn, maybe I'll be "the first". I talked to the local Leonard truck accessories shop and they claimed it can be done with proper set up and some trimming. Here's to hoping I get it done before next Friday when I head to the beach.
