So I've been trying to figure this out for a while now I got my 4.6 2015 tundra and I'm pulling a 5200 lb toy hauler with a couple ATVs and when I'm going uphill if I'm not in 4th gear my torque converter gets up to 250° my oil temperature 219 which isn't bad and they say that these transmissions are supposed to run at a warm transmission fluid temperature to thin it out but with my torque converter getting that hot should I be worried and what do you think I could do to fix that I have a aftermarket transmission cooler with fan that only seems to help when I'm stopped.

Manual says 4th S mode, and 65 mph is ideal. There's not much else you really can do except make sure the trailer bearings and brakes are in good order.

Does your truck come with a towing package with factory installed trans coolers?

You can always drop it into a lower gear to cool the transmission down. Heat is produced at the torque converter vs the rest of the transmission.

You can slow down. Check a trans fluid temperature vs life span chart. ~220F you are starting to eat into the fluids lifetime.

Anytime the converter is out of lock up , you are creating an abundant amount of heat . Throw a transmission cooler at the truck and as mentioned above , use 4th gear to keep the clutch inside the torque converter locked up . If you have a scan gauge , you can see when your converter locks and unlocks
