    I've offroaded with a lifted subaru a few times.

    Nothing comes close to a body on frame for offroading. Every rock is a danger to unibody offroaders.

    That said, 30mpg+ would be nice with more utility.

    If it happens my bet is it’s more like a Honda Ridgeline than a Toyota. And after running a Subaru dealership for 20 years, and knowing/seeing firsthand how they treat customers (and dealers) - think head gaskets, the dodo bird Tribeca B3, paint issues, so on and so forth? Hard pass for me, regardless of how cool it looks, thank you very much.
