I got these nice Rekgen flaps a while back and unfortunately my mutt chewed on one of them. So I just took them off right after. Today, I replaced one of my scratched up tail lights only to find out that without mud flaps, all the dirt collects behind the tail light. I need to put them back but I am thinking to cut maybe 2-3 inches from the bottom of each flap. Just need to see what I can use to cut it nicely. Any suggestions?

I would use a card board cut out of the bottom end showing how much trimming to do.

Honestly, it doesn't look that bad. I would just put it back on the way it is. Just cut the little bits off and good as new.

Trim the chewed up part off by making the corner chamfer a little bigger with a razor knife and straightedge. If it bothers you make all the corners the same. No one else is going to notice. Get your dog a chew toy...

It doesn’t look too chewed up. I agree with the others saying to trim and put em back. :pccoffee:

I would just trim your mud flaps and reinstall them. The RekGens are flat, pretty thick and durable.

FWIW, the studs on my snowmobile track wrecked the snow flap on a Polaris I owned; I used a circular saw and a straightedge to trim a few inches off. Looked great.

I was thinking to cut it shorter overall but what most of you said makes sense. I will just trim the edge of both flaps to make it even. Thanks!

Q: What's the difference between porcupines and Porsches?

A: Porcupines have pricks on the outside.

Just trim the chewed corner with a razor knife and trim the same corner on the other flap the same way. No need to touch the other corners it won’t be noticed.
