I recently installed a dual usb data port setup in one of the switch plate positions
below the climate controls in my 2020. Took me less than 20 minutes.

Posting this in case it might be helpful to someone else.

My whole purpose for this was to be able to put audio files on one memory card and video files
on another and have separate 'last played' memory. I listen to movies
a lot going down the road.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    o) I wanted the least amount of hassle possible. no futzing with switch plate sizes etc.
NO new cables connecting to the head unit. no messing with the head unit period.
    o) didn't want it to interfere with the cupholders
    o) could care less about anything having to do with a smart phone, carplay,
appleplay, androidplay, nokiaplay, samsungplay or any of that stuff.
    o) could care less about any kind of USB charging capabilities.
    o) toyota multi media console must be able to access both ports..data wise.....

I included pictures of all of this.

I have 2 micro sdxc cards(256Gb and 400Gb) to use with with these 2 ports.

I could not find a plug an play/no fuss solution until i came across this BEULER item....
which i had to order from crutchfield....because i couldn't find it anywhere else....
including Amazon. This one snapped right into the empty switch position without requiring
any modification. I did order the usb hub from amazon.

I did not take pictures of the install. But it wasn't that difficult.
    o) Take off the dash board trim
    o) remove the OEM single usb port switchplate,
    o) connect the hub to said OEM switch plate usb port
    o) install the BEULER dual usb hub switch plate into far left switchplate position
    on the dash board
    o) connect 2 usb cables from BEULER to usb hub.
    o) bundle it up and put it back under the dashboard
    o) i did not touch any wiring for from the head unit.

I did test all of this before i took the dashboard apart and after.

Both micro sdxc cards show up on the multi media display. Both have their
own 'last played' memory position...otherwise i wouldn't have done it.

I believe i saw this mentioned before in a post. The multi media system can
(will?) only handle a max of 2 usb ports (the 3rd port on the hub i installed
has nothing connected to it). Both of my memory cards are formatted as FAT32.
So far no issues regarding size of the memory cards.

Total price(not including memory cards/card readers) was less than $50. no brainer.

This is a great idea and best of all so simple!!

I would listen to movie audio for hours on while driving on road trips when my kids were watching movies on the overhead dvd player.
Everything from Disney movies to Ironman, Darknight and my all time favorite Forest Gump.

I have never tried it but can our Tacoma radios play actual video while parked?

So could I use one port for my music on a USB drive and the other port to hook my phone up to Android Auto?
