I forgot they've even got an "A0" WW1 spec model. That's also a contender cause it's even cooler than an A1, and still legal.

Excellent, I'll put it on the roster.

It’s a BB gun. Only you have a silencer range in your basement.

    Yep....lots
Anybody here (besides me) build there own? I am a 1911 fanatic and I've built 7 up from parts and modified at least 4 more. Here's my favorite. Caspian stainless frame with all of their Damascus goodies. Shoots great!

I used to have a dozen or so auto pistols various makes & calibers......... started building my own 1911s and now only have the sexy on on top. Both are TZ/IMI hard slides and barrels atop Essex or Capsian frames. fullsizeoutput_191.jpg

Use to custom build 1911s. Was actually accepted into the American Pistolsmith Guild back in 2010-2011 but eventually got out of it. I’ve built dozens and trained under one of the best but gave it up for personal reasons and as an artist, I preferred to create my own works outside of what customers wanted. Maybe someday I’ll get back into it.. still have all my tooling!

Here's my SIG 1911R. Grips are LOK Ops and magwell is from Fusion. I know, it's a very untraditional 1911 with the Sig slide and pic rail.

Had various makes of 1911s in the past never could shoot them accurately compared to my other plarforms but always loved it. Finally got me a good shooter traded a decked out cz p01 and got some cash for this SA guv’ment model in 9mm. Has some WC controls, trigger, and flared MSH with magwell.

Top one is a para light double action officers size in .45 and bottom one is a rock island in 9mm. Two unconventional 1911's

I haven't owned a 1911 since the 90's, but while out scouring the local gun stores and pawn shops for a Glock 23 I found a RIA compact for $250. Nothing fancy about it at all, but after disassembling it down to the frame for a well needed cleaning, the action and trigger are super smooth. I'm looking forward to my next trip to the range to try it out. I doubt it will find its way into my carry rotation, but stranger things have happened.
