2000 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner Access Cab 2.7 liter TRD package
    Hello,

This is my second Tacoma, used to own a 2009 Tacoma with extended cab and extended bed. I bought this older truck with 142,000 miles on it to drive it around the US for two years rather than beat up my lovely 2016 Mazda3 hatchback. This Tacoma is a 2000 Prerunner with a 4 cylinder 2.7liter, Access Cab, TRD package. It can tow up to 3,500lbs and how a tow hitch. I plan to buy a small Hobie Cat on a trailer to play with as I travel. I'm looking for a truck cap to put on the 6.5 foot bed that I can sleep in when necessary and to keep my possessions secured. I've contacted SnugTop in Oklahoma, the nearest dealer to where I live in Florida and haven't gotten any response in the month I've been trying to reach someone. Haven't spoken directly with anyone in California either. Looking for tips on where to find a cap to fit my truck. I've also been entertained by the YouTube videos on truck bed living and now have a AAA membership. Other suggestions for parts, care and feeding of my elderly but still lovely truck, and lifestyle tips are appreciated.

You might want to measure the bed before trying to sleep in it.

I'd look for a used unit.

GMC Sanoma trucks have the same dementions, I believe Ford Rangers do as well.

Look for a Utility type cap and no worries about the back of the cab angle to deal with.

Oh, and welcome! Please make a thread about your trip. We all love that sort of thing, since we most often are stuck at work.

    Kirk
