Anyone willing to mention wheel weights for 16" options? Looking at keeping weight as low as possible where available. Cant imagine searching for every reasonably looking wheel and what their weight is.

    Anything between a 16x7 - 16x8 for an example.
No beadlocks - real or fake.
Some examples would be Black Rhino wheels, SCS, TRD wheels, Icon.
Anything along the lines of the super common/ugly Moto wheels that every Chevy 1500 with a 6in RC lift has is not my thing.

    More specifics, please.

    Preferred material?
    Rim Width?
    Special features?

Tire will add a significant amount of weight.

What is a reasonably looking wheel? Everyone has different tastes so that is pretty subjective.

Sorry for the lack of details.

Truck will be on a 2" Dobinsons lift. 33in skinnies for some time. Plans for forced induction down the road so just cutting some weight early with some modifications.

Buy what you like and worry about trimming weight somewhere else. It’s not a drag car and will never be some magically fast truck even with the forced induction down the road.

Heard. With the right wheel/tire combo regarding weight I can look at compensating for armor as well though. Goal isnt performance oriented. Trying to reduce/add weight in the right spots.

Abandon all hope. I picked up 100 lbs just in tires (over stock). Running 255/80-17’s. Skids, sliders, winch ~450 lbs. Prinsu rack +70 lbs.

Lets be realistic here. If you're that worried about weight just keep 1/2 tank of fuel in it. Skip a few meals and lose 10 lbs. Wear sneakers instead of boots.

To each their own. Doesn't need to be that excessive. But say you save 5lbs per wheel, there's 20bs. Then as we know tires have such a various range of weight with their respective load ranges and sizes, I can easily imagine based on any size/load you desire, there is room to save 20-35ish pounds. Now we are up to 40-55 lbs saved. Might not seem like a lot but depending on your own mindset, it might be valuable information. Same goes for a bumper choice, chances are aluminum over steel is acceptable and you save weight. Wouldn't likely want aluminum for under vehicle armor. Just looking for the information.

Take the rear seats out. Drill holes in the frame, exhaust and tires. :sawzall: I knew a guy who was seriously into backpacking; he drilled holes in his toothbrush.

On the other hand, heavier wheels extract a penalty every time you accelerate or decelerate, affect handling, and adversely affect suspension component wear. Some weight is impossible to avoid, but it’s another parameter you can use to exclude certain wheels.

I think you’re just gonna have to make a list of the ones you like and sort them by weight.

The trd pro wheels are probably not too bad.

Aren't the various TRD rims generally around 22lbs? I agree that the F5 is the end-all option for lightweight wheels, but I think there are still plenty of options under in the 21-25lbs range. Even the old 3rd-gen 4runner 5-star alloys are 22lbs.

@R3b3lSon82 Have you chosen your tire yet? I don't want to start a load range debate, but if you aren't set on E-load tires, I've seen suggestions that there are lighter-weight (SL/XL/C-load) 33" tire options for 17" wheels than there are for 16" (all the 16" 33s are E-load). Unfortunately I can't give any specifics (I ride on SL 31s and am comfortable with that)... but something to think about before you drop cash on wheels.

Ok.....so you are trying to save 20-50 lbs on a vehicle that weighs roughly 4400 lbs or roughly 1%.

I think I'd just buy the wheels I like and could afford.

Your fuel tank swing between E and F will have more impact on the truck weight.

I can attest to this a little bit have 3 sets of wheels which include scs f5's factory wheels and factory steelies. Putting the lightest tire on the lights wheel even if its only a ten pound difference between set ups it does make a difference on performance and handling.

I'm afraid I don't have anything to add to OP's original question, but I can attest that I was able to notice a significant decrease in performance with only a 5 lb increase in tire weight. I can't say the same for adding 150lbs of armor. Weight of wheels and tires really is important.

Lightweight wheels/tires feel different, for everyone lumping general weight into the same category.
