The difference is they don’t make them. Vland is the brand that makes and sells the headlights. AlphaRex just buys in bulk, relabels the product and sells them for way more when you could also buy them direct from alibaba out of China yourself.

Hopefully this thread isnt tooooo dead... Anyone know a good supplier to Canada? Check some sites (Amazon, t-dot preformance..) and they only have up to 2011 model year lights, nothin for my 13. Any ideas?

Hmm. Looks like they don't have it.. oh well. I contacted them yesterday and with the conversion from USD to Canadain fun bucks it looks like it should be around $760ish shipped to my door from the Alpharex site itself. Not as bad as I thought it'd be!

We can ship up to Canada as well, and can probably save you some duties/taxes. I'm not a huge ARex fan, but we do carry some of it thanks to the demand for the product! If you didn't purchase already shoot me a pm with your part number and address and I can get you a quote.

Pictures - I uploaded some pictures of mine and the problem I am in.
I got the alpharex back when they came out for the 2005 taco's. Simply for the sequential drl. I have had 4 different aftermarket headlights and all I ever wanted in a company that makes lighting houses to make a set with DRLs and that looked almost like they are stock. (Unlike Spyders failed attempt) Alpharex nailed it. I do alot of night driving and I have not had any problem keeping my eyes up where the beam cuts off or struggling to keep my eyes above the lower part of the beam. Haven't had any oncoming traffic flip their lights at me cause they were blinded. I drove 20 mins on this rd after work at 2am with only the DRL lights on, no lo beam on no hibeams on. Strictly DRL. THATS CRAZZZY LMAO
So I noticed when I got the alpharex headlights, there was some imperfections almost like a scratch pad under each set of cube projectors. It was very faint to see it and installed them anyways. Months and months later, I notice my driver side headlight housing had moisture in it. Immediately I was furious. As I'm looking at the light, those scratch like marks got bigger. Now I'm at the point Im emailing Alpharex, explain what was going on, sent pictures and the company I bought them off of on ebay. I left a lengthy email explaining how these are my 5th set of aftermarket headlights and I only decided to dish out the $1k because I thought at the price, these would be waterproof-- till the day I died and I wouldn't have a set of lights every other taco owner would have only because of the price. Alpharex replied with basically , they didn't acknowledge my QC concern, and was short and sweet and basically since I didn't buy through them they can't help me. Had to go through the seller who I bought them from on ebay. So as of today 11/2/2021, I just bought a set of oem lights off marketplace on fb for $40. They can't send me new replacement lights until I send mine back first. I have to send my alpharex lights out to get a warranty covered new set. The reseller said they would inspect the new ones for me just to make sure that the new ones are good to go.
Personally, ya the headlights are bright , and sexy. I haven't had a single problem with the visibility yet. Also, I would like to see alpharex make a set of matching foglights that have some sorts of drl bar or halo or whatever that is in sync with the sequential drl bar. Also, I believe the 2016 tacoma alpharex logo in the headlight lights up. Mine you can see Alphrexs name but the letters are not cut out and don't light up. If anything, my size headlight housing has so much real estate for the size of the housing. I would like to see a custom headlight guy take a set of my Gen tacos alpharexs and cut out the alpharex name and illuminate the logo.

Be warned your DRL bar is turned on 100% of the time. From key fwd to key removed. If you go park somewhere to nap or stalking someone lol or whatever, I would like this feature optional. Maybe a switch board on backside of light or something of that nature, if ran it to a toggle switch I feel like I would forget to turn on off more than anything.

Other than the scratched up, paint missing, condensation... I don't regret spending the money for them. They look to good. Beam distance and cutoff is completely fine. I mean you are talking about a difference of who gives a shit at that point. Why do you guys get so defensive about what ppl like? It's mind blowing the amount of hatred that happens in forums all for what?

Maybe those "scratches" are from the projector getting hot? Maybe the black is a dip of some kind and is shrinking?

ANYONE out there running the ARex PRO series in Alpha Black?
These seem to be the best bang for your buck. $335 cheaper than the LUXX projector series and the only difference is no LED bulbs?! You can buy some of the best LEDs and still save some money. ARex even says you can run LEDs in the PRO series, even though they say it's not DOT compliant (see below). Still better than LEDs in a reflective housing.
Also, ARex says if the LED chips burn out in the NOVA and LUXX series, you need to replace the whole headlight... wtf... (see below).

I have the pros for my 2014 I'm taking them off and putting black oe styles on. Light out put is garbage. They look cool enough though.

I ran both, neither were good. If I still lived in a city I would keep them on but now that I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere I need better lighting.

I totally get it!
I am trying to figure out what to get. I need new headlight assemblies BAD.
Not sure if I should get OEM ones and do BHLM to keep it simple. Or get OEM housings and retrofit them. Or get aftermarket lights.
I do lots of highway driving and it's always in the dark in the winter with the shortened days. Good lighting is a must for me.
I don't want to throw light quality out of the window to get a little style. But love me some style! lol

I have no time to swap projectors and do t have the know how to do to. Plus I have new housings on the way and going to do the ultimate height mod eventually.

I'm not wanting to spend $1600 CAD on headlights. Plus, if the LEDs burn out, you need to buy new headlights...
Apparently the Morimoto headlights are wayyyyy better than ARex and the same price.

Uhm no they are not wayyyyyyy better. Morimotos projects out 5ft more on lowbeam but less total output. Alpharex are 6000k morimotos are 5k, 5500k. Morimotos high beam is a joke, can't even compare to alpharex's highbeam. Drl on Alpharex is easily 3x brighter which gives them more of the "foreground" light which I personally like better because I do little trail driving late nights at slow speed and like to see EVERYTHING in my immediate 10'

Well since I personally haven't seen either or, I will trust someone that has an education in lighting and knows a hell lot more than the average Joe.
