    They should slide in a bit until that c clip hits against the smaller od inside the diff - are you feeling them slide in at all?

    If you can't have anyone hold it straight, try using a rope or much better yet a ratchet strap or big bunch of zip ties.

    Also helps if you can hold the knuckle off to one side with some cord or rope. That'll give you a straight shot with the deadblow hammer
