What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Which ones did you go with? Thinking of doing this next summer

 

I just went with what NAPA had in stock. (They were more expensive from NAPA..)
If I was smart and planned ahead I would've got the Spicer/OEM ones from RockAuto for way cheaper.

 

Do they sit higher or lower than the stock seats?

 

Yep, you going back to 2000 then back to 1987! Numbers don’t lie!

 

Unless they do something miraculous with the 4th gen Tacoma I will always be in a 2nd, or maybe a 1st, gen truck. After 5.5 years in a 3rd gen I am extremely happy being back in a 2nd gen. Once I get a good head unit and a back up camera I will be set.

Did you find any bonus backstraps or tenderloins in the process ?

 

Since my truck is going to hit 100,000 miles soon I had it checked over at the Toyota dealership. Turns out I need a wheel bearing and new rotors and pads in the front.

Few weeks ago went trail riding too.

 

Got the new grille in. No time for replacing headlights today. I think plastidip blue emblem is next.

Believe it or not, but I recognized that grove of oaks. I actually camped there for a week with my youngest son back in December 2007 when it was called Boulder Creek. Hell, he's grown, married with 2 kids now. Great place to ride and camp for sure!

Clean MAF
Clean throttle body
New PVC
Oil and OEM oil filter

Anything else I should do at this mileage/time?

Well, today I made sure the vehilce behind me, knows who's driving the truck infront of them.




Incase my potato picture is, potato, thats my 3rd brake light, and it says BOB, not 808.

 

The brackets encompass the frame and use factory holes that are already there. I can't remember exactly where I got mine but this should get you started.
