Okay, I need help sorting through all the options for rear springs. My truck is a 2015 double cab. It has a set of 2019 OR front struts with a .75 spacer (total of 2.5” lift that has settled some) The rear has some HS AAL’s on factory springs. Tires are 255/85r16 BFG KO3’s.

Last summer we loaded up for an overland trip and went exploring through the Bighorn Mountains and Beartooth mountains. I have a rack, swing away tire carrier that mounts in the factory hitch and a bed sleeping platform in the bed with gear storage underneath. Lots of gear etc. in the cab. Overall, I could tell the truck was loaded, but the issue was any and all offroading (most of the trip) the back end would bottom out on things that didn’t seem at all “big”, and really banged on the stuff that was big. I want to address this.

So, my question is-Deavers seem to be the top line option; however, they are quite expensive in comparison to other options out there. They also list as a 2” lift-I got some lift from my added AAL, but not that much if I recall correctly. What would be a good option for someone who does moderate offroad with an overland loadout? Some of the options out there are half what the Deavers cost and honestly I have to ask if I will notice the difference? Thanks in advance

Just enough to look kinda cool.
Lift springs will lift a factory weight truck but with the weight you have added you’ll want lift springs that are built with the extra weight in mind as well as the lift you want. So if you want to maintain the 2” lift you will want a 2” + ~~lbs springs. Look at the gear that you typically carry in the back and add up a rough weight figure and get a spring set to match.

Bottoming out would be better accounted for with some better bump stops rather than a new leaf pack. I have the wheelers super bumps and love them, though I think you need to do the U-bolt flip to get them. Sumo springs would be another option.

Otherwise, Alcan will custom make leaves based on your load and lift expectations. Icon RXT can be adjusted based on load as well.

But, again, you don't want springs so stiff you won't bottom out, the ride will be terrible.
