Hi all. Total noob here looking for some advice. As the thread post says I got an opportunity to upgrade my Bilsteins on my 21 Off-road 4x4. A friend of a friend is offering these as he just got a complete King setup. If I’m not mistaken the factory stock is the 4600s so this would be the next step up.

I’m told these have about 15K miles on them and come with the springs which is nice. But is there anything else I should ask to make sure everything else is ok? What would be the guess on install costs to swap these out with alignment and all? Any other advice you’d offer?

My plans for the truck is really to keep it stock, maybe a inch lift but that’s about it. I plan on doing some light off-roading like fire roads such as Cleghorn, Sheep Creek, and Santiago Peak, but I don’t intend to get into heavy use/backcountry and/or bouldering though so I’m also wondering if I should just stay with what I have.

And sorry as this is the only photo I have for now.

    Thanks in advance.

I take it the price is for both the front set and rear set? If it is that’s not a bad deal if you’re on a budget. It will cost more to get them installed from a shop. If I were you I’d install them myself. I just did my lift this past weekend and it wasn’t hard to get them installed at all. I struggled more trying to get the JBA UCA installed. The rear shock is very easy to put on. I did the 6112 up front and 5100 in the rear.

If you’re planning to only do an inch lift in the front, that will pretty much level your truck since the rear is an inch higher

5100 is an improvement over stock suspension. Those are set at higher than stock setting, so you would end up with some front end lift.

If that's the price for all 4 then it's a really good deal. They look to have a little more than 15k miles, but if you trust the person selling then they could just be dirty.

I do lift/suspension installs here in SoCal. Feel free to PM me for a quote, I'm more cost effective than most.

I would. I just but 5100's on all four corner. Took about 4hrs (but we also did a Icon AAL at the same time). Rides nice.

Looks like those are factory springs also, the clips on the 5100s are as follows:

    1st notch - stock
    2nd notch - .65"
    3rd notch - 1.1"
    4th notch - 1.55"
    5th notch - 2"

3rd notch would be the best of both worlds. I would just youtube mechanic and do research on here for install, especially if you aren't changing anything but the struts and have the coil already on. Good luck!
