Just curious if anyone on here from Alberta, know of any dealers or shops in the Edmonton area that do the needle bearing replacement?

I know of Cochrane Toyota and have spoke with them. It's about a 3.5 hour drive from me, ideally I'd like somewhere closer if anyone knows!

    Thanks!

I would be very surprised if a dealer was willing to install an aftermarket part just due to the potentially liability.

Beyond that it's actually a really pretty easy job I've done a few, unfortunately I'm just a little too out of the way from Alberta.

Cochrane stocks the ECGS bushing and tool, and apparently does them a lot.
I just don't want to drive 3.5 hours haha, also I'm sure a private shop would beat the 600 dollar price haha.

A guy in town has a side business with a fully equipped shop, he only does brakes, suspension, fluids.
I'm contemplating sending him the video of it and seeing if he will do it.

I'm sure if it's a pretty easy job, any mechanic could probably pull it off?

Probably, if you've seen the video it really is pretty straight forward and if you have the Special Service Tool for it then it's really dead easy. I did my first without it, definitely worth the investment to get it, and even modify it to make it better if you plan to use it again like I have.

That said the consequences of improper installation can be severe so to me it would probably be worth the drive to go to someone experienced.

Its an easy install. If you can pull the cv the bearing replacement is simple. Way cheaper to buy the bearing and tool and spend an hour to do it yourself!!

I don't know about Edmonton but The Gear Shop here in Calgary supplies and installs them. They ball parked me $600.00 so I just ordered everything to do it this weekend. If you are going to DIY and are ever in the YYC area let me know and I would sell you the install and removal tools to save some $$$!

Neat. I have only used them for parts but its nice having a dealership who understands mods. I have made multiple trips out to them. Any clue if they warranty it because they supplied and installed everything? My understanding is the bushing may void my warranty on the CV and diff. Which really does not worry me too much anyways.

Yes they did warranty the work/part for 2 years.
They were great to deal with!
