Figured you were already planning to pull the seats, didn't know the garage is heated. *jealous*

Yeah, when I grow up, I want a garage like theirs. I can't even fit the truck into mine. If I did the job at home, I would have commandeered the living room for the assembly, which I'm sure my wife would have approved of 100% :anonymous:

I beat the piss out of the truck in the woods. I have definitely had the front end off the ground, potentially all 4. I drive through/over/under trees (trails in the north maine woods turned into buschwhacking on the trail basically). I am abusive on the thing, I have a dent in my skid plate from beating on it.

And yet...the first real issue I've run into is a coolant leak from driving it on the road o_O at Toyota now - they looking. Won't be under warranty, most likely, already have 42k on the clock.

    Shenanigans.

Hah! I was driving to work this morning, noticed heat wasn't blowing hot. Thought "OHHHHH that's not good. That usually happens from wh....oh, yup, temps going up, time to pull over"

I don't know what's happening yet. I had an alignment done yesterday and then a car wash w/ under spray without my skidplate on but that shouldn't have done it. And it wasn't leaking last night, I don't think. I haven't looked in my driveway for a red puddle yet. TBD though. Hoping it's just a hose.

My first 2 cars were subies, I'm intimately familiar with the smell of coolant and still compulsively check my temps everytime the truck gets to operating temps lmao. Good luck!

I had that happen on my '13 F150. Thing was fine, then it randomly start leaking coolant. Of course it did it when I was in NY for a weekend, at my parents' house. I ended up having to take Monday off so I could get to a dealer, get parts and swap out a connector that had a failed o-ring.

Yeah - service advisor just came back to me and told me "all they told me is "damage"", so he's going to check on it now and figure out what they're saying it is, and I'm going to ask if they can show me the damage. He said the water pump was included like WTF how bad did shit get damaged bro!? I went and had an alignment yesterday, and if it looks like that's what may have caused the damage I'll have to call them up. I have to see if there's a coolant stain on my spot at work. If there is, would lead to indicate it happened when it was at the shop yesterday morning and then there were leaks, but I didn't notice it until this morning.

There is a big ol' stain on my driveway, so leads me to think something happened between Wednesday night when I did an oil change and didn't have a leak, and then this morning when it was leaking when I hit the remote start since it was cold. I got an alignment, went to a car wash, and then went home, so ---- haven't seen the damage yet, but if it looks like it's mechanical and from the alignment, guess I'll be calling them. Yeesh. What a morning.

Oh, yeah I hit the oil filter door hard one time. It's a minor dent but still there.

edit: The aftermarket steel, not the stock tinfoil.

ah. Yeah that's pretty much what my IFS skid looks like. I am happy I didn't get an aluminum one now. I have to hit it with some paint, looks a bit rough. Point being - not a pavement princess, and yet - here we are, the only real damage I've gotten is not from wheeling it

Is radiator. Is rotted. Sounds like I had mud packed in there and the was blew it away.

Moral of the story - don't wash your wheeling rigs. Mud is what's holding it together.

Id push the dealer to get that warranty coverage. A radiator rotting out in 42k on a modern car is nuts.

I wonder how bad woolwax on a radiator would be......

I haven't gotten in there myself, once I do I'll know better, but it sounds like I had mud caked in there, and over time that is what ate away at the radiator. After that, it was kind of actually holding it together. I dropped my skids and went to town with my pressure washer and went to a car wash last night preparing for @jpereira2 to undercoat and I think I blew it away.

I think (so far) this one is on me - I won't fuss. Once I get in there and can take pictures and know better, I'll update here

I'm just happy this didn't happen in back ass middle of nowhere Kentucky two weeks ago, it happened in the 4 mile commute to work.

I doubt that's what it was if you were concerned . Tech at Toyota said once you take the fan shroud off you can see all the black and rot of it all. I haven't done that yet. New one will be here Wednesday so I will be doing that probably next weekend - so I can do it in the daylight.

Hey PS @jpereira2 do you have a driveshaft I'm supposed to have picked up Sunday??? @nickonfire700 right?
