I swear I have the worst luck in the world. I had to get out of my Jeep Wrangler because it was a damn lemon, and the one prior to that was a lemon. Now as I'm sitting in my truck and see water dripping down, I see a nasty leak.

I've had my truck for 3 weeks. I noticed something about 2 weeks back...my center console around the manual shifter had a pool of water. Couldn't figure out where it came from?

Then the past several weeks, I noticed I had to always keep my defroster on, because as soon as I turned it off, the whole entire inside would fog up. Makes sense.

I left a message for Toyota, but feeling really frustrated! Obviously it has to be something with the moon roof? Any others with a leak?

    UPDATE:

A little miffed... the dealership mentioned, the roof rack caused the leaking! The OEM roof rack, which come on these trucks, was the source of the problem.

My truck didn't come factory with one, but it was one thing I wanted. The dealership where I purchased the truck, mentioned they had 2 trucks come in with mine, having roof racks that where part of the package but weren't on the trucks. They were willing to grab one and sell; offering $200 to put on, or I could do it myself. Not a difficult task, so I took it home; placing onto the truck the following day.

The dealership where my truck was currently for the leaking, told me, it would be $300 to fix...WTH!? If I didn't have them do it and leaking continued after I tried redoing the roof rack, and let's say it caused other issues... Well they would not fix it under my warranty. Essentially, I had to pay it.

Just frustrating as I just got out from under my Jeep Wrangler, having to pay 3 grand, and Chrysler refused to look at the transmission, even though I went through 3 clutches, going on a fourth all in a years time, and the first failed clutch was at 16k. That's a whole other story. I literally took my jeep from the "stealership," telling them to "wrap it up," and I sold it; buying the Tacoma. Can you see why I'm slightly irritated? Only 3 weeks old and I had to pay for a repair. Oh well, what's done is done☹️ (thanks for listening to my little rant).

Check the HVAC drain hose for a blockage. Had that same thing happen on a different vehicle and that was the problem. Cob web in the hose caused the the drainage failure. :hattip:

There’s a recall for leaking 3rd brake lights, not sure if it affects the 21s. When I bought my truck I had a similar issue and they ended up replacing the windshield which solved the problem.

Sorry to hear about your issues OP. Hope you get it resolved.

Hope I didn't jinx myself by saying this, never had a leaky 3rd brake light issue, expected they fixed this since past years had the recall.

Did they replace your front windshield or back? Having front windshield issues. Starting to think it has to do with low quality control off the line.

So basically youre saying that there was water around the shift boot/ cupholers (not just on the floormats)?

That has to be the moon roof. Take it to the dealer to reseal.

The dealer will fix it. Could be a sunroof drain . Don’t worry it’s not a lemon like your Jeep’s were .

My bad, I went and added pictures, got a phone call; forgetting I hadn't saved the changes. I've since uploaded some.

Damn, I was so pissed when I typed this out, I didn't clarify so much. Sorry. It's around the buttons for opening and closing the moon roof. I added pictures.

As I mentioned to another poster... I was so pissed when I was typing out the original message, I wasn't very clear to articulate the actual problem. It's the part up on the head liner, for closing and opening the moon roof. I've included pictures.
