    Hi Everyone.

Currently a member of Tundra solutions but will be looking at getting a new truck next summer when we pay the house off.

I currently have a 2004 Tundra Access cab SR5. Will probably give that to my son if he doesn't have his own vehicle by july/August of 2022. If he does have a vehicle I'll probably just keep the Tundra.

I've been researching new Tacomas and have decided on the Army Green (my favorite color) and I like the hickory interior. I like the limited package, as I don't do any off roading.

One thing that I've read is the issues with the transmissions and the shifting.

Of course after researching I'm seeing loss of stuff on the internet about a new Tacoma model coming out in 2023. Who knows about that.

Happy to join Tacoma World. Want to learn a lot and hopefully in able to contribute as well.

I have had a few third gen Tacoma rentals and really didn’t see the problem with the transmission. Take it for a long test drive and decide for yourself! Or get a 6 spd…

    Welcome BTW!

Just to let you know, if anything on future models is coming from news sources, who do not have a Toyota insider, inside information, adjacent-inside information, or Tier 1 supplier to reference, I probably wouldn't trust it to be accurate.

I am finding a very sad pattern lately with Japanese brands, where their North American lineup of products, gets often misreported by US automotive media and left uncorrected, because the media sources such as TFL for example, are NOT willing to do the legwork to verify their information to be correct and are just plainly lazy.

Over the years, as a hobby away from work (engineer/analyst), I have carefully documented and followed industrywide automotive development. I've seen the 4th generation Tacoma, be pulled forward and fall behind various times. What TFL and some sites are ignorantly reporting right now, is absolutely inaccurate. I think we will see the new Tacoma (my speculation), be revealed during the first half of 2023, but I know for a fact it won't be in dealers until at least February 2024.

In terms of debut dates, Toyota did this twice with the Highlander, the past 2 generations. The 2014 Highlander made an NYIAS debut in April 2013, entering production in December 2013 and entering dealers in February 2014. The 2020 Highlander also made an NYIAS debut in April 2019, entering dealers in December 2019-February 2020 (staggered release like Tundra TTV6 vs Hybrid Max).

For 2023, I believe the Tacoma is carryover, but I have no idea what is coming outside of it being in dealers in October 2022 and not seeing replacement until February 2024. That is the last model year of the current truck, so when the next one comes, it would've been almost a 9 year run.

Hope that info helps, as all of us on TW have been sharing that so far. I just wish rest of the internet would be up to date, so Toyota (enthusiast) owners can plan around it ahead of time, without it upsetting the rest of Toyota's overall sales.

Like the guy I saw in a decked out, lifted Lunar Rock 2021 Tundra TRD Pro just bought, who clearly was desperate to avoid the 2022. Truck had to have some headers on it. (Surprised a Toyota dealer was selling something like that.)
