Hello taco world, this is my first post on here so go easy on me.
I am wondering if anyone out there has successfully installed a fuel pressure gauge onto the 3rd gen 3.5 v6 engine?
I installed a procharger supercharger over the summer and one of their recommendations is to install a fuel pressure gauge to ensure adequate fuel pressure is getting to the injectors. When I purchased the supercharger I also got a boost gauge and a fuel pressure gauge with a electronic sending unit. I was originally thinking I could install the gauge on the front left hand side of the motor at the end of the fuel rail there is a factory sensor, I was planning to remove that and install a t-fitting so I could attach the sending unit for the fuel pressure gauge off of that. But apparently it says specifically in the manual to not remove that plug so I never installed the gauge. I installed the boost gauge so I could monitor that. The procharger kit was very easy to install and took me about a day and a half to complete. It made a huge difference in performance and the truck has been running great so far. However the other day under hard acceleration I did hear a little engine knock, I'm thinking possibly do to the colder weather? I always run 93 octane fuel and always have even before the supercharger. I will try some octane boost and see if that helps but I am now thinking maybe I should try again on getting a fuel pressure gauge installed to make sure it's getting enough fuel.
I have seen that URD racing has a fuel rail tap for the 2nd gen tacoma however I have not found anything like that for the 3rd gen, and it being a direct injection motor I am thinking that might have something to do with it. So again my question is has anyone had any luck installing one or has anyone else tried or heard of someone that has done it? any insight on this would be greatly appreciated. I love the way the truck drives now. I used to own a 87 buick grand national and I feel like it would blow it away. However I just want to make sure that I am not doing any damage so I will try to be lighter on my right foot.

Wouldn't engine knock usually be something that needs to be corrected in the tune?
(Just a suggestion cause I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn last night)

yes you are probably right about that. I just wanted to see what kind of fuel pressure I am getting so they have something to go off of. I have the ovtune that was part of the kit I bought and was supposed to work with the set up I have, but maybe need a little more fuel to the engine (possibly bigger injectors) but like I said I wanna see how fuel pressure I am getting so they can get an idea of how much more fuel I might need. also will be looking into an air/fuel ratio gauge
