USB-C charge port ?

I've found a ton of USB charge ports online that are the older style USB. Anyone know where I can find one that is USB-C? I don't really care what the power is, I'll rewire if, if needed.

I don't really want to 3d print one because prints never look the best

If you don't care about charge times, might as well use one of these adapters or an adapter cable. Recently purchased an Anker Bluetooth speaker and, even though the receptacle on the unit is USB-C, it came with the adapter cable only. True USB-C allows the device to communicate with the charger as to its voltage/current requirements. For most vehicles, the charger is going to need a step-up convertor since the charging voltage can be as high as 24Vdc (I think).

I can't offer a fix for your quest but I need an education. I'm getting ready to add a USB/12V panel to the back seat area of my new '21 TRD OR. Just bought 2 new Galaxy S21's and was told we needed the Type C (AC) chargers so I added a couple to the order thinking it was something radically different. It's been a few months and I haven't even opened the boxes. Other than having a type C terminal on each end, what's the big deal? Currently we're just using the standard USB plug end with a Type C terminal. Am I missing some advancement by doing this?

My current plan is to buy a Blue Sea panel with USB and a 12V socket that I plan to flush mount under the drink holders in the rear of the center console.

 

Samsung uses PPS (PD 3.0). Most USBC charges are USB PD. For example, a MacBook pro charger goes up to 87watts but I can only get about 12 watts on my s20. With PPS, I can get 45watts. Whatever charger you get, look for PPS.

 

I'm trying to get rid of my cigarette lighter plug. The 5watt USB outlets are useless to me. I have a feeling I'm going to need to make one if Im ever actually going to get one.

My plan was to find a USBC port. If the power wasnt there, I would soldering a power supply with 55w PPS or whatever.

 

I am no electrician so forgive any ignorance to the jargon above. Essentially what I found when looking for a higher output USB plug was brands like Expedition Essentials just tapped into the cigarette lighter plug. In order to save the hassle of rewiring stuff behind the dash I just went with the plug in adapter from Anker and have been super happy, even bought one for the wife. If you are dead set on trying to replace existing buttons with higher voltage or otherwise remove plugs then go for it. Options like this offer a lot of output and are pretty hassle free while still giving you the USB option.
