@5280 and I took advantage of Colorado's extended Fall season and cruised Hackett and Longwater gulches. The weather was perfect and the trail was not too crowded. We saw @Chadr7858.

It was fun to wheel with a fellow '99 manual transmission First Gen.
    IMG_3638.jpg

@5280 has no fear. Made it up and down obstacles with ease. I see I am not the only one with skinny pedal issues and smokin' tires.
Reminded me of a @WarFab Armor quote, "If you can't have traction better have wheel spin!"

A great way to spend a Saturday in November. When will the snow arrive?

Fortunately @Chadr7858 didn’t have to fish us out when we hit some deeper water later!

Last time I was down there it was too deep to cross on the long water side... Not to deep for @johntoyota and his dorkel though.

Rollins pass east was drifted over this morning. About 2 to 3 feet consistently. Made it about 2 miles before finding a 6 foot drift and decided we didn't want to winch through.

Fun times last night and today with @YamaDirtrider and @bot102

Mini Moab was nice and wet and sloppy, but the ledges weren't bad.

    20220219_153739.jpg

As is to be expected, my dumb ass did a dumb ass thing and was fiddling with the radio, not paying close attention as we were coming into camp, and let my tires get just a little too far to the side. Literally 50 yards from our campsite.

    20220218_165946.jpg

Things went from good to bad in a split second. Things went from bad to worse before they got better, but we eventually found a good winch point up the hill, and Josh and Alec were able to help me get the truck safely back on trail.

    20220218_180443.jpg

@YamaDirtrider had his own set of issues this morning. His CV popped loose pulling out of camp...

    20220219_105807.jpg

And then, approximately 35 seconds after Alec told him it probably wasnt a good idea to try going up the ledges because his CV would probably pop out again....

    20220219_121059.jpg

I dont have any actual pictures of us wheeling, but maybe they do...

how does one have a CV pop loose? and how does it happen multiple times? did they not push it in far enough and check that the clip caught?

Wadda you know, I live close to said jetty. Locals refer to that beach as Toes (as in "Toes Over").

    Right on!
Lived in Redondo, Hermosa, and Manhattan from 86 - 94. Back then there was a bar called Toes Tavern that our Thursday night softball team frequented at Catalina and Elena in Redondo.
Now I hang out more north by you when I visit my daughter at LMU.
