I’ve had this set of SnapOn (Norseman) drill bits for probably 18years, they live in my service van, and are used regularly by me, I don’t/won’t loan them out.
I’ve sharpened them by hand using a 2” 120grit grinding disc on an air buffer as needed, I finally bought a Drill Dr. and went thru the whole set today. squared trued them all up. The 1/2” I can warranty thru SnapOn, just need to catch him. The broken one is 9/64 and was able to be ground and split by the Dr.

This one was actually broken Drill Dr. ground it back to a point and split it. Nice !

Blue set I bought from Fastenal a few years ago for home use, same set, same brand, different color case. there is a lot to be said about having a good set of drill bits, buy once cry once. I’ve got too many hardware store bits that just ain’t up to it.

Absolutely agree, Ive got a $400 Mac Tools set that goes down to 64ths of a inch and they are the best, no questions asked lifetime warranty. I probably ran through three or four milwaukee/dewalt sets at work before buying the Mac set. Somehow I stumbled onto HD closeout of dewalt bit sets for $5 each so I bought all 6 they had, those I keep at the house so I don't care who uses them or if I lone someone a set.
I have heard only really good things about norsemen drill bits and may end up buying a set for the house.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Nice, I have that blue set from Fastenal but find myself using the random home depot crap bits I have laying around because I don't want to damage them. LOL...

the difference is Standards in a given industry
JIS is used by most Japanese manufacturers (6,8,10,12,14,17,19,21,22,24mm you're used to working on your Toyotas) with a few odd SAE bolts to confuse things, usually in the HVAC stuff

    DIN is German.
    ISO is an international standard
    EN is European standard
    ASME/ASTM is US standard

thread pitch will cross between standards that share same pitch

bolt head and nut flange size varies between standards

A bit of vintage iron I have taking up space in the garage.
The guards are about 1/2" thick.

    KIMG1830.jpg

The little cans are for greasing the shaft bearings.KIMG1832.jpg

You fill them with grease and give them a turn now and then, forces the grease into the bearings.

    KIMG1831.jpg

Vintage iron saved from the scrapper. The company was in business 1904-1964.

Not yet, but they have great reviews. They're fine threads and much easier to use than the more course thread spring compressors.

Perfect, ordering my set now! As soon as I get the 4Runner off the lift, I'm going to put in my 5100's. Thanks for the response!

I have used mine a few times and they are excellent. I do not use power tools on them only hand tools, never felt that it was unsafe at any point.

OK here is the layout of my tools in the shop. My shop is currently 1200 sq ft. and I am expanding it by another 1200 sq ft. The expansion just got delivered yesterday, but it will probably be a solid 4-5 months until I erect that. Installing solar first (well waiting on the permit), adding RV parking onto the side and building quite a few retaining walls……..busier now being retired than when I worked!

#FULL DISCLOSURE# the 4Runner project is my nextdoor neighbors. He sold his 88 4Runner which he built as strictly a rock crawler and bought this one. He is building it so its street legal but also capable. Ford front end, Chevy rear end…best part about this is the knowledge I get just watching and helping!

Socket storage for 1/4”, 3/8” and 1/2” along with speciality sockets. Anyone wants amazing organizers look at westlingmachine.com. Extremely reasonable and top quality! Also all of my sockets I got in 6 pt shallow, 12 pt shallow and 6 pt deep.

For those of you with Wera 2go kits, how are you storing them? I'm thinking about getting a Velcro panel to go on the wall above my top box. I'd love to see alternative solutions.
