I have a set of 16 inch steel rims with snow tires I used on my 2009 Tacoma offroad. I now have a 2019 Tacoma sport . I mounted one of the steel rims from the 2009 on the 2019 and it looks like everything clears but what i did notice is the lugs dont seem to be long enough. there is only 1/2 inch of lug to thread into the nuts . Has any one used their gen 2 steelies on their gen 3 . I phoned two different dealers to ask if there was enough lug sticking out for the nuts to safely fasten the wheel on and no one really knew even with asking around in the shop.

    Look at your lug nuts.

Do the nuts have a shoulder that extends through the wheel? If so, that is additional thread engagement.

Be aware, the lug nuts may be different between the alloy and steel wheels. Use the correct type of lug nut to match the wheel.

Yes , I have the proper lug nuts for the steelies which have no shoulder like the lug nuts for the aluminum rims do . When I put the steelies on my 2009 Tacoma I seem to remember a lot more stud sticking out than with the 2019.
