I recently purchased a Bakflip MX4 hard folding cover and attempted the install yesterday with no luck. After about an hour of fiddling with it I went back to the box and saw that it says Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon on it. I spoke to the customer service rep today and she claimed that it should still fit and is the correct part. Anyone have a clue whether that's true or not? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills over here.

Call them again and talk to someone different. Bakflip's website says the Colorado/Canyon part number is: BAK-448126. The part number for a 2021 Tacoma short bed is BAK-448426.

That's the plan for tomorrow. I did bring up the part number discrepancy today but the customer service rep says she checked with a sales rep and that it should work. I'm gonna fiddle with it a little more today when I get home from work.

Side note: 2nd gens and 3rd gens are different. Confirm they are sending the correct version.

Figured I'd update this in case anyone finds it down the road with a similar issue. When I called Bakflip the second time I followed the automated options to the install assistance line instead of the customer service line. After explaining what was going on to the install assistant he immediately told me that the 2 covers are not interchangeable and that I was missing key parts. He was able to initiate a return and sent out the correct replacement. Turn-around was about 10 days and I received and installed the correct cover yesterday with no issues.

Glad you got it figured out and annoying you had to deal with the first person who had no idea what they were doing. I installed mine a week ago and it was simple took a couple hours
