I just bought a 2000 tacoma today (my 11th 4wd Toyota truck).

    This is the 1st of many Toyota trucks I've owned that have this engine. It is a E3RZ-N73. I know NOTHING about this engine so I have questions. How many Liters is this? Does it have a timing belt or timing chain? Is it as reliable as the 22r I'm familiar with? Anyone know of recalls on this truck and if so what were they? If anyone has answers please let me know.

    Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
    3rz and 2rz are the successors to the 22re. theyre damn near bullet proof. they can make the 22re look unreliable (as long as their valves are kept adjusted)

    Make sure to get the valve clearances checked every 50k or so, its about the only real trouble spot these have.
