My buddy just got a lift kit on his 2021 TRD Off Road (4x4) and sold me his old grill and threw in the shocks they took off his truck. I have just the shocks. A picture of them is below (yes, I have 2 of each).

Here's my question for a noob.... Can I just trade them out with my stock shocks that came on my 2020 4x4 SR? I'm assuming the rest of my stock suspension will work with them since it was from his stock suspension, but I wanted to make sure.

I figure for free they have to be better than the stock shocks I have now.

Yes. All the 3rd gen’s are identical in that regard. I don’t know if it’s worth the effort to swap them unless your shocks are worn out.

My shocks have less than 30k on them, and his less than half of that. So you’re saying I won’t tell much of a difference if I swap them?

my trd or suspension was removed at 1,000mi.

1,000 miles too late for my liking

Probably nothing to gain with swapping to those. The OE SR Hitachi shocks aren't a worse shock than those Bilsteins. If I was going to go trough the hassle of swapping shocks and probably an alignment after, why not just install some 5100s and lift it a bit too?
