Coming up on my 35K service and I know I don't need to do much other than rotate tires and visually inspect other stuff. But I want to do the "driving on dirt/dusty roads..." service. What shops do you all use/ recommend?

I wish I could do it all myself, but no time, no space and no tool to do it myself yet.

I'd get recommendations locally. I know 2-3 guys who run independent shops that I'd trust but I have one guy who I use as much as possible. There are a few things he doesn't do but not much.

I buy my tires at Discount Tire and they rotate and inspect those as part of the purchase. I used to do my own oil changes, but Gary will do it for $10 if I bring in the oil and filter. He inspects my vehicles at the same time and will let me know if he sees something that needs attention.

For minor repairs such as tune-ups, belt changes, brakes, etc., he charges $60/hour plus parts. That is about 1/2 the rate most bigger shops charge. And Gary charges for the actual time. Most of the bigger dealers use book rates. If the book says it takes 3 hours they charge 3 hours of labor even if they do it in 2 hours.

What part of the valley are you in? Hate to recommend a shop 30 miles away.

Ive had service done at Toyoworks in north phx multiple times for a trans fluid drop and fill. 30k, 60k and 100k.. Tried out Yotapros in tempe once for 90k service with a coolant change. Both did great work. Hope that helps!

I second Toyoworks in north valley. They stand by their work, as I have been there twice and good outcomes both times.

Been happy with Sunburst Auto in Glendale. They've done my daughter's Rav (evap carbon canister, a/c charge at 257k miles), and my 2002 Tacoma when I needed the fuel tank rollover valve and grommet.

I've been using Choice Auto for a little over 6 years now and i haven't had an issue with any of their work but they are in Tempe. Unfortunately i don't know of anyone closer to your direction.
