So I topped off my tank a few days ago with a gas can.Ive driven 40 miles and my gauge has not moved. It shows slightly over full. Could I have broken something when topping it off with a gas can. Or is my gauge stuck.

Your gauge is most likely fine. They're nowhere near accurate. I've found when it reads about 5/8 that's actually closer to half, and it'll read above full for about 40-50 miles

Mine is normally above the "full" line until about 50 miles. That said, be careful "topping off" at the pump or (especially) with a can. If you fill the evaporation canister attached to the tank, it'll cost you about $500. Happened to my friend, and read of many others on here.

It just dropped a little when I parked on a hill. Its working now.I never was able to drive for 40 miles without it moving. I dont think I will topping off with gas can anymore.

Mine is the same. Doesn’t move until 50 miles or so.
