My 2007 tacoma 4x4 v6 started setting codes po171 and po174. I cleaned maf sensor because I had problems before with it,but had no affect. The next day after about 25miles I felt a engine nudge and the codes set again. For the next two days it got worse. Next time it was just like I ran out of gas, engine died for a few seconds then ran fine. The next day it repeated this 5 times in about 40 miles. Sometimes it would did for 2 or 3 seconds, other times 5 to 10 seconds. Usually this happens under load, going uphill or accelerating from an stop.I saw that someone else had similar symptoms and it turned out to be plugged fuel pump screen. Has anyone else experienced this??

    Check fuel pressure

Hook up a scan tool and look at fuel trims while driving

Do you think that you might have too much fuel restriction?

Well I didn't have scan tools to try that but checked the fuel lines which run direct from tank to engine and checked fuel pump relay ,that appears to be fine and can't check wiring connector at tank without dropping tank so I think I will order new pump assy

those two codes suggests a vacuum leak to both banks. I would suggest to inspect the 0-ring to the MAF sensor since you said you had removed it for cleaning

my Sierra did the same codes awhile back. I did the same fixing stuff you mentioned with intake and MAF cleaning. It even passed the intake manifold leak testing. I finally just replaced the air filter. Problem solved and never came back
