So a couple months ago I got in the Trailtacoma group buy for the RRW sliders and I figured I'd share some thoughts and pictures of them with you, dear reader. If there's any questions not covered in this brief writeup feel free to ask and I will answer if I can.

    Proir to Install:

Install was relatively easy, but be warned no instructions are included. There are several videos out there however. Included with the sliders were grade 8 bolts/washers/big ass washers/ and brake line relocation bracket. I did have a second set of hands to help me maneuver them in place since they weigh about 70 lbs each.

    Install done:

I almost didn't get these after some less than flattering reviews and comments on here. However, for me, fitment was excellent, the finish was pretty good, they seem extremely sturdy and well built. The only issues I had was with the shipping, but RRW was helpful in sorting that out. Cheers!

Are the sticking out enough to help as a step? Maybe it is the angle of the pictures, it looks like they provide a really small step.

The kick out sticks out a good bit, at the front doors they work fine as a step for me to access the roof rack. My foot fits between the top of the slider and the bottom of the door. With the door open there is a good bit of top plate to step up on. But by no means are they comparable to an actual side step or running board.

Glad you wrote up on it. I got the same exact ones as you did in the group buy. After reading some reviews of older versions I was concerned. But honestly, this versions seems rock solid and the paint finish seems excellent. I’m not having any of the horror stories that others were having. Also they fit super well.

Yep some of the stuff I read on here about them had me skittish about buying them. Apparently there were several previous inferior versions before this one. I thought they were impressively gusseted and the powder coat was solid for the price. I really like the way they do the top plate as well.

Yeah I heard they switched a lot of their productions for this round. I think they’ve gotten it right with this version. I guess my only complaint is the lack of instructions but once you get under there it’s pretty self explanatory. They look great too!

Did you have any holes that did not line up or you didn’t use? Been hearing people missing hole mounts etc. Gonna do mine this coming week.

I’ll jump in here too! I got mine and have them on now too.
They stick out enough for a decent step and more importantly, my wife’s car door hits those instead of my door…..
Had no issues installing them by myself. They even included a stand off for brake lines. There is a write up by trail Tacoma on the instal but their sites are blocked on here.
Overall, I’m impressed by these (no previous experience with sliders) and glade I went with them during the group buy as well. They seem solid and well built. I’ve lifted one side of the truck with them as well.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
I really like mine. I have had them since the second build group. They have taken a lot of abuse, most recently used the full length including kicker to help pivot around a large tree stump on a trail. Didn't hit the tire on the stump, but the back of the bed did hit, so they did their job well. The only issue I have had is the powder coating did not stay on at the welds and has started to rust; I'll need to flap wheel and paint them next year when it's warm. Easy install, everything lined up as expected.
