Truck I got used had a knock off pro grill in it, I wasn’t really fond of it so I put a stock grill back in. While doing so I replaced the fogs and not thinking I turned the key on with the sensor unplugged. Can a Snapon scanner reset the code I’m getting? I was hoping the next start up with it plugged back in it would go away but it seems it’s a hard code. Dealer trip?

Try disconnecting the battery. I did that after getting a code while messing with my intake tube and it went away.

Well it was worth a shot. How long did you leave the battery disconnected?

I can't see a situation where a code won't clear on its own, unless there's something else wrong. You're sure it's plugged in all the way? No bent pins?

I didn’t check to be honest, figured it would clear itself once plugged back up. I’ll give it a better look tomorrow

    Oh look, another mod....
I have done this in the past to clear codes and engine lights:

    1) Remove the battery cables.
    2) After they're disconnected, press and hold down the horn for 30 seconds.
    3) Wait an additional 2 minutes, then reconnect the battery cables.
    4) Start the vehicle back up. The code "should" be cleared now.

Really helps when you plug the sensor all the way in :anonymous:

    Oh look, another mod....
This happened to my truck several months ago, when I had a new bumper put on. After the work was inspected & done, I drove away from the shop that installed it for me. I was half a mile away, when the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree! Every light came on. I had no idea how many damn warning lights there are!

I thought "Well, I just had the bumper put on, and they put the grill back on too. They MUST have skipped a simple step, and that's what's causing this." I immediately pull over, pop the hood and YEP, the connector to the TSS sensor and front facing camera were not plugged back in. I shut the truck off, plugged it back in, then started it back up again.

I haven't had any issues since. Remember: Fixing the smallest thing will prevent the biggest issues.
