What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I do oil and filter changes every 5000 miles.

You’ll want to change the filter housing to the metal one. Someone posted the link (sorry can’t remember who) a few posts ago. I kept thinking i was going to break the plastic housing.

Same wrench fits. Housings are same, just different material.

 

I’d rather just let a shop do it but I want to learn this stuff myself just never turns out like the YouTube vids lol

 

Filter should be done with the oil change along with a new gasket

 

They are a great running board and I highly recommend. They are well built and I have had no issues.

In my day it was OIL change every 3K. filter every other oil change.

I guess we don't trust filters any more.

 

Does the tool that fits the OEM Fiber reenforced Plastic (FRP) filter cap also fit the metal caps?

So the quality control on Prinsu racks ain't great then. For some reason I thought they're a bolt together then screw down on the factory roof inserts?...,good to know...I will most likely go with UpTop or Victory 4x4...

 

Oh no, the Prinsu is a fantastic product and absolutely 100% bolt on. It's the factory weather strip in the roof rail that I'm talking about. Unless Uptop or Victory provide their own stripping to replace the factory stripping, which I don't think they do, you'll have the same experience with those.

 

im kinda old school. I dont use a buffer or any tools like that. I just apply it with an applicator and go around the whole truck (usually soaked after since I am in muggy Florida) and usually by the time I get all the way around i can start removing it with a soft microfiber towel.

 

Love that type of riding. Nice trails, great scenery, and looks like perfect weather. Great pics!!

Installed the OEM tailgate lock. Sure wish I had discovered the darn thing before coating everything with cosmoline.
