I am using a aftermarket radio on a 2009 tacoma everything seems to be hook up correctly however the is no video camera not working.
When I put the truck in reverse it switches to the camera but I get checked your camera connection.

Could it be the camera not working since it never was used?

Welcome to the forum. There’s a wealth of knowledge in here. Provide further details, what aftermarket head unit you have, stock or aftermarket camera, what model Tacoma you have. Someone will give you the help you need. Unfortunately it isn’t me, I don’t have the knowledge to. Best of luck.

Do you have the factory tailgate camera? If so, aftermarket radios is not plug-n-play with factory tailgate cameras since the OEM uses 6V. Some have hacked to make it work but personally, find a 12V tailgate camera for a tacoma and swap it with the OEM. I use the camera off this tailgate handle to install in my pop-n-lock. Works great:
