0ADFF687-CB78-4BB6-A21C-74A5F37CDC86.jpg Just got here from Hawaii, headed up to Sacramento on Sunday. I’m leaving LA tomorrow morning, but looking for a place to do some wheeling a little south of Sacramento. Honestly I’m down for whatever. A little bit modified but willing to send it on just about anything. I have Gaia and comms, the normal stuff. If anyone could get me to a spot to camp tomorrow night somewhere between LA and Sacramento I would be grateful!

    Truck pic just for fun

Nah, I’m relocating due to the military but decided to do a cross country trip to NY. One of my Soldiers who was killed my last deployment is buried up there so I’m going to visit him and his family.

I'd take 395 to 50 if you have time. It'll add a significant amount of travel time but if you're camping you'll have a lot more options on that side and the views are worth it.

Thank you so much for this recommendation! I drove up to Mt Whitney tonight. Here are some pictures of the journey so far.

Nice Rig! Those tail lights are nicely blacked out too.

Thank you for your service--I'm sure the family of your soldier appreciates your visit.

I was stationed at Hickam (2003-06) and bought my 2003 Honda Pilot there.

I'm also from L.A. so you picked up your Taco from the port in San Pedro or Long Beach?

Your Mojave trip pics captured the essence of the west.

I picked it up in Compton. Pasha Hawaii’s warehouse was located there.

Love the rear bumper. Were you able to ship the truck with the awning attached? I'm getting read to ship mine from mainland to HI with a GFC and awning, and I know that Pasha / Matson are super strict on what's allowed to go along with the truck. They say that as long as it's bolted down, it's okay, but I'm seeing mixed messages. Mahalo!

Thanks man! Pasha was a joke, they didn’t even check half the stuff on my truck. They let me ship it with the rack, and the awning. As long as everything was under 7’ and not wider than whatever their website says, they didn’t care.

Awesome, that's a relief! Lots of sketchy reviews online so that's great to hear.

In Hawaii, it was a young kid that inspected mine. He was more interested in my lights than checking any of it. He didn’t even look in my engine bay.

Assuming you’re already in Sacramento, if you go up Highway 80 toward Tahoe, Grouse Ridge Campground has epic views, it sits over the top of 5 alpine lakes.

Active duty here as well, time spent in OIF/OEF. Good luck on your journey.
