Selling my CVT Mt. Shasta with Stargazer option and Full Annex! This is the Extended Fly version as well, so it's really large when fully opened. With all the options this was over a $2,200 tent. Iv'e had it for about 4 years.

First of all, iv'e spent about 40-50 nights in it, so it is a used tent. It's been absolutely great, but iv'e moved on to a hard shell as I enjoyed the RTT experience so much. This tent does have it's issues, described later on.

What you're getting is a CVT Mt. Shasta with the "Stargazer" rain fly. This has a transparent top window so you can see through it without letting the bugs in.

You will also get the CVT Annex. This is in great condition, as I only used it a handful of times. Comes with the carrying bag. The annex is awesome (and HUGE) for guests, etc. 3" thick mattress with a removable/washable cover.

Now for the tent itself- Overall, it's a well-loved tent in what I would describe as "fair" condition. I'm going to try and remember everything I can that's wrong with it.
    - Two covers are included. The first is weathered, has holes in it from rubbing against the tensioning straps, and the zipper is missing. A SECOND cover is included, which is also used and is in better shape.
    - However; it was designed for use with a different ladder style. CVT sent these out accidentally, and so while it can fit over the tent, it's too tight and extremely difficult to zip (this is the cover shown in the photos). CVT sells replacements for $125 if you want a new one.
    - Speaking of zipping....I didn't like the zip closure method. So I ended up cutting out all the velcro straps that normally secure the tent shut once it's folded, and I use a ratcheting strap around the whole thing (under the cover, kind of difficult to describe, see photo). I'm sure if you wanted you could sew some straps back on if you wanted to use it that way, and with enough time it could be restored to it's former glory. I preferred using a strap as I could unfold and fold the tent entirely (minus tension rods) in 30 seconds. I do not use the cover zipper, as the ratchet strap would be in the way and I found the zipper too tedious. The cover will "parachute" i.e. fill with air when you are driving, since the zipper isn't closed.
    - There are a few zipper pulls that are missing. I know for sure the ones for the entrance window are gone. The entrance window zipper is broken- it zips but does the thing where the zipper pulls apart after the zipper has past it. There are probably a few zipper pulls around the tent missing that I cant remember off hand.
    - For roof fastening; I used threaded eyelets with an exhaust clamp to match the curvature of my bar racks. You can use this method or your own (the original tent mounting system is included, but is missing one "bar" see photo). The difficulty with using the eyelets is that they thread into nuts in the tent rails, making it difficult to line up. I did it this way so that the tent could be locked to my roof so it could not be stolen. I would not recommend doing it this way if you're someone who intends to install/remove the tent frequently.
    - One of the cover straps is fraying and should probably be replaced soon. They're not the original straps- I had replaced them a few years back.
    - Overall, again the condition is used. Definitely no rips or tears in the tent, but again Iv'e spent a good 40-50 nights in it, so you should have an idea of what to expect. It's been a great tent though, and functionally works fine if you're either okay with the current closure/securing method or want to spend the time to bring it back to the original condition.

All tensioning rods, internal tensioning lines (for folding), included.

I'm happy to open the tent to show for potential buyers. But please don't come here and ask for $50 off because of the condition. I think iv'e priced it accordingly, and disclosed any issues in detail as to avoid this.

Stupid question, since I’ve never owned a RTT and don’t have a bed rack, can this be temporarily transported in a shortbed? Or must you have a rack if one wanted to pick this up?

It definitely will- I transported it that way before I got my bed rack.
