I think this is why Nissan will be successful. People will look carefully at the Tacoma. Then some of those people will look at the Nissan (which, I assume will offer heavy discount and special pricing, etc.). Then they will look at the numbers and the gap. A great many will pay the premium and stick with the Tacoma. But a fair amount will look to save $5K to $7K. If Nissan can make that work they will have a success on their hands.

I hear you on the Xterra ... I never owned one but drove one ... they were fun to drive ... !

Also agree with you, unlikely Nissan can catch up in the aftermarket options -- and that will be a key factor for more serious off roaders.

Not according to every single mag that rates the Taco dead last in the midsize segment it seems. :lalala:

Lame comparison too, you get similarly equipped trucks not one auto and the other manual, one with highway type tire vs one that's more Offroad...what's next...an electric truck vs internal combustion?...truck king:puke:

Idk why the focus on stock tires. Nissan looks like an old soap box racer, with an emphasis on box, and the suspension is also really bad. I'm sure they'll sell a ton of them though.

Even if you compared this frontier to an auto TRDOR, there's still the argument that the taco is 5+ Years old. I agree these videos are kinda clickbaity.. and it works I watched it, and now we are here.

Being someone who is still running stock tires, I cant wait to get a proper set of all terrains on it to test the hype.

It seems every one of these comparisons have the caveat "these are street tires"

It’s a TRD Pro… apparently some 2021 Pros were flying off the assembly line with TRD OR bedside decals.

The reviewer is a joke! I would never let that guy test drive anything! This video is not that bad, but I saw him trash a 4runner he was reviewing. It’s one thing to Test drive and it one thing to tear something up that does not belong to you. That was not a apple to apple comparison should have used a trd off road. Glad the Tacoma did well.

Truck King isn't very scientific and I don't expect them to be. They seem to be straight shooters (at least compared to TFL) and I enjoy their channel.

Valid points about the new Frontier in an earlier review: https://youtu.be/yD0rBcR1SG8?t=271

I've done most of that shit in my '87 Toyo with retread snow tires. But that was a long time ago when no one had videos to compare. We didn't need no stinkin' lockers!

I don’t know about other cities and states but here in Los Angeles area Nissan dealerships heavily advertise to folks with bad credit or no credit. Some of these folks will end up buying these Frontiers since they believe that Toyota will not finance them a Tacoma. o_O

Hard top camper...many more to add+
    Someone mention the Zr2 Bison…..out performs…
If you study how 4x4 systems works…. Any off road vehicle with front and rear lockers…will always out perform, those vehicles with out any lockers…
Crawl controls and other systems like it… will always do a bit better then those without it..

Frontier does offer a rear locker.. that can be use up to 25 miles per hour…the Tacoma..only up to 5 mph..and for only short periods of use….. kinda like only part time use…?

The ultimate 4x4 will always those who offer better off road track systems, like two lockers..front and rear..
They say if you had to choose only one locker? Having it in the front locker…works better…because it is pulling you thru..rear locker..just pushes, and on up hills..will or can lift the front end up..study this further…
