Hey y'all, first day posting here on the forums. Been scouring around posts about lift kits for 1st gens but a lot of them seem to have outdated links or recommendations.

I'm looking to lift my 2003 Tacoma (4x4, Crew Cab, V6) by around 1.5"-2.5" on a somewhat tight budget. Ideally I'd like to spend less than $500 but would be willing to go up to around $600 if it meant higher quality. I've never purchased or installed any suspension parts so speak to me like you'd speak to an 8-year-old doing multiplication for the first time.

Basically I'm looking for a complete list of all must have pieces to complete the lift (all shocks, shackles, spacers, or anything else I'd need... again I'm pretty clueless).

    Thanks!

    hi and welcome to TW.
I have a 2003 prerunner. I was pretty much on the same situation you were when i first started to get into lifting the truck. Everyone is gonna have their preferences on here about different brands/companies for products.
I'll just share what i went with. Belstiens 5100 all around, toytec front springs (about 3"lift), OME leaf springs (roughly around 2.5" lift). Im still using stock UCA's and shackles. I dont remember exactly how much i spent all together but i know i went this route because of my budget an it being the cheapest at the time. OME leaf springs i got from a friend that were used so i didnt pay much for them.
What is the reason why you are wanting to lift your truck?

    4 run, 2 don't
Nothing is outdated, all the kits you've looked up are still available and nothing more has been released because the newest 1st gen is over 17 years old :burp:

Thanks for the reply. I'd like to do some more off-roading. Current setup isn't bad with 4x4, rear-diff lock, and all-terrains, but I sometimes run into some problems with front and rear departure angles and could use a little more clearance.
