Good morning, The morning of November 4 my E-brake system froze up once again and after calling the service department of Western Slope Toyota, these two men, Justin Haws and Trevor Harrison, came to my residence in Palisade, Colorado (approximately 12 or more miles one-way), to trouble shoot the E-brake system of the Toyota Tacoma 2016.

For some reason the rear drum brake sticks after parking uphill nose to the front? Trevor stated to try parking with the nose on the downhill side, he explained the S-configuration of the drum assembly.

I can not tell you how much I appreciate your professional approach of customer service, These guys showed up immediately to my residence with tools on hand and were ready to dis-assemble the drums to try to figure out why the system is doing what it is doing?

Ever since I purchased this wonderful truck from Travis I have had it serviced by Western Slope Toyota and I am so thankful for my choice. Thank you guys for your great service Michael Kennedy

November 19 2021. Update and problem solved??

Trevor Harrison Ford service manager stated to try to park with nose of truck downhill instead of uphill due to the S-configuration drum brake and Man O Man did that make a difference. The other day I drove to my trail head and through about 2 feet of water to get there and when I parked my Toyota 2016 Tacoma I parked with nose down hill. That night got down to 25 degrees and I was surprised to find out that the E-brake did release?! If I would have parked the truck with the nose uphill it would have frozen again, So I do believe Trevor has found a design flaw with the Drum brakes on the Tacoma 2016 and beyond?? Hope we can get together and have Toyota look at this design feature and maybe go back to how the Land Cruiser Disk brake E-brake system operates.
