I got this sent to me in an email the other day. After a couple months of looking I finally found a Taco available (supposed to be here next week) at MSRP which is fine with the market the way it is. Has anyone else heard of this so called charge?? Just curious!

I wanted to follow up with you on your interest in our 2022 Toyota Tacoma SR5. As XXXXXXX mentioned, all vehicles are selling at market value these days - most sold before they arrive.

New Tacoma's, for example, are bringing as much as $10,000 over suggested retail price. In fact, there have been dealers sell their new Toyota's at auction for $7,000 over MSRP - without offering them for sale to the public.

Our price on this vehicle is $43,611, plus sales tax and dealer fees. It looks like this Tacoma will be here within the week.

You can secure this vehicle with a $1,000 deposit - no problem.

The MSRP was $38,611. After purchasing a new wrangler the last go around I am returning to purchase my fourth new Toyota truck. Some people have to learn the hard way!!

    I'd send a return email

"Thank you for increasing the price. No Thank You, I will not buy this vehicle. Do you have a used Corolla?"

OP..... I assume you did not have a signed Sales Agreement.

Holy, that's expensive. That's more than my OUT the door price for my 2021 TRD Sport. I would wait or keep looking around.

You'll be waiting several years for the "price gouging" to reduce, but inflation will take over by then.

If you need a new vehicle now, yesterday is always the best time to buy.

You said it was hard to find this one (6 or 7 dealers before you found it)... there's a reason.
