I hate having a Monday on any day other.
Changing plugs, I noticed the reservoir was empty. Wtf. Please, not another head gasket!

No, it was something better. I hope anyways...

I've got some antifreeze dripping off of the cross member behind the oil pan. :annoyed:

Dropped a coil bolt and found that whilst searching for the bolt that has disappeared. Literally, I can't find it. Home cheapo to the rescue.

Ok my fat ass broke the soapbox. End of rant.

Time for a cooling system pressure test. Hopefully it will be something simple, or cheap - or maybe both.

As for the Home Depot fasteners, remember that they're not automotive grade and the main difference is the finish / corrosion resistance. If they use road salt where you live, it will corrode insanely fast.

And generally not as high quality steel / weaker. Probably fine for this application though.

OP hopefully its something simple and not the coolant crossover pipe

    I hate to hear that.

I’ve seen quite a few of your post on here.
What ever it is, I’m sure you can handle it.
You seem to have a good bit of knowledge on these trucks.

    Hopefully it’s something simple. :fingerscrossed:

I'll finger it out... Twas not what I wanted to see tho. I really have no ambition to be working in the cold, in a garage with no doors. Today was stupendous tho.

Coffee at the crack of ass. Wake the rooster up with the cattle prod. Charge the inspection cam again and I'm going in. Where you might ask... In the back. Fromunda.

Soooooooo, I'm not seeing any leaks at present. I did find what appears to be the starting point, but it's all dry right now. The pics are taken looking to the front and it's the passenger side.

    I f'ing hate Mondays...
Edit: just noticed this passenger side, round recess with 4 bolt holes...

    Check the heater core.......

That drip appears to be near the rear of the engine bay. Ain't much else using coolant on the passenger side near the back of the engine bay.

Yeah, I understand the bolt eating engine bay. Recently I was replacing valve cover gaskets. While removing the intake plenum, to work on driver's side, the 10 mm socket got wedged on a bolt. The bolt was near the firewall at the center of the engine. As I was retrieving the socket....it fell deeper into the engine, although I could see it. I formed a piece of wire into a hook, no magnet tool, for capture. Well.........I hooked it, began lifting the socket, when my footing slipped. Socket disappeared. Its somewhere on top of the transmission/engine below sight under the firewall. I purchase 3 more 10 mm sockets.

Found it! Thank you thank you thank you... I was praying that it wasn't the crossover tubes. After spending close to an hour working my way through the valley front and back it was dry.

Someone :anonymous: didn't tighten the block drain tight enough at the last flush. :annoyed::facepalm:

Nah.....the "mechanic" was prolly interrupted to get a chewing because he left fingerprint on the hood and alleged scratch on the steering wheel.

Then the mech was honked off and just said close enough, then went to take a leak.

As am I. As am I.

This site and it's users are a wealth of information. Your issue has probably already been discussed.

It can also emulate the vacuum of space on your wallet if you let it. There are so many things that I would like to do on this truck that I have seen on here. However, most of it is impractical for me at this point in time.
