You cannot factory order. You have to rely on the allocation system.

It’s how they keep the cost down… Everyone is already complaining about the prices on here.

 

I actually love the Audi/Porsche ordering system. I ordered a 6 speed manual Audi a few years ago with exactly what I wanted and nothing I didn't. It took a few months to build in Germany and ship over to CA, but worth the wait.

Now back to this thread; we're talking about a Toyota Tacoma here. It's just another mass produced vehicle, do you really expect to be able to custom order one? OP, did you also request the custom ordered Corolla or Honda Civic?

Frankly, it is good process to streamline the production and manage costs.

Its the way Toyota does business.......there are other brands on the open market. Mazda, Honda, Nissan, Ford, GMC, Dodge, Chevy.....just to name a few.

 

It's not surprising as its a mass produced vehicle not a luxury car like Mercedes, Porsche etc etc.

 

Now this is a thread I can really get into…

When I ordered my Kia Rio from the factory with calf skin leather dyed violet and red crushed velour door trim I got it in 4 weeks.

 

It only costs more.

 

Imagine letting just any commoner off the street custom order their [poverty spec ultra mass produced] vehicle.
Sometimes [poor] people don’t realize that they need protection from themselves.
