Footwell Lights That Don’t Suck

Haha you might be confused a bit. It’s all good.

The version you’re buying has 2 modes:
1. Full brightness (MAX) when the door is opened or the truck is unlocked. It’s bright as hell.

2. Dimmed when the dash lights are on. This dimming is selectable by the user. You can sit it from 10% to 100%. Do as you please but I think it’s a driving hazard if you push it to 100… there’s so much light it’s not a joke.

These are standard options. The only thing we’re thinking about for version 2.0 is the ability to turn them on by pressing the dome switch overhead. That’s it. Doesn’t do much at all other than gives you a switch for the lights.

Color-wise you will choose a single color. If you want to swap them out you can easily do so by buying a different color — they’ll be available a la cart so you don’t have to rebuy the whole 120 some-odd kit if you just want a different color. Then re-sell the color you don’t like on the forums or something.

Will the footwell lights come on when the day time running lights are on or is it just for the headlights?

 

Only when your dash lights are on. So parking lights and low beams. If the stalk is in DRL they will not come on.

I've been refraining from asking but... how close are we to these being released?

 

Harnesses will be finished this week and then that concludes my commitment to the first run. On VLEDS side we’re prepping samples for dealers to do promo. I think the actual consumer product-in-hand before Christmas might be a stretch at this point, but I think you might be able to pre-order around then, regardless. Production is pretty slow recently but everything is still chugging along just fine.

It looks like everything is done and is just heading for final packaging. In other words: They just need to put all of the components in the neat little custom boxes and they should go off to retailers. The kits look incredible.

We have decided against a pre-order given that the Christmas window is virtually closed and the product-in-hand would follow ridiculously close to the pre-order. Stay tuned -- I'll let everyone know when shipments are headed out. Just judging by the amount of interest from this thread and my never-shrinking inbox I'd advise people to act quickly when the kits go up for sale!

 

Im in! it gets really dark especially with the tinted windows.
